Chào anh Hiệp. Thật không dè cảnh sát Nhật cũng khá mạnh tay với người Nhật và nông dân Nhật những năm đó bạo miệng quá chừng trong cái video anh dán. PV xem thêm vài video nữa, hỏi thăm thêm bác Gù mà càng ngạc nhiên thêm. Kỳ này qua Nhật lần nữa, PV có thấy vài người phụ nữ Nhật, khoảng hơn ba mươi, hút thuốc tự nhiên ngoài đường phố; cũng thấy một số lái xe buýt lớn, quẹo trái giữa lằn ranh giao thông rất nghề; xem trên ti-vi có một hai nữ nghệ sĩ nhạc trẻ chơi trống; ở khách sạn có những người đàn ông chuyên dọn phòng và các cô gái trẻ mặc suit đồng phục làm bellboy phụ giúp chuyên hành lý cho khách đến, khách đi. PV đoán, người Nhật rất cấp tiến, xứng đáng với chủ trương duy tân của tiên đế Minh Trị Thiên Hoàng. Những giá trị truyền thống như tự trọng, tự giác, tôn trọng người khác, khiêm tốn, lịch sự, kín đáo, sạch sẽ vẫn ẩn hiện trong mỗi con người, rất đáng phục.

Nền dân chủ của Nhật thập niên 60s và 70s vẫn còn phôi thai chưa đạt được đến nền dân chủ như hiện tại.

Trở lại vùng irvine của nước Mỹ một tí. cách đây 10 năm, thành phố irvine muốn cộng tác với tư bản để xây phi trường quốc tế El Toro bự hơn phi trường LAX.

Nhưng trước khi đó phải đưa dự luật ra cho dân chúng vùng irvine bỏ phiếu, cuối cùng đa số cư dân đều bác bỏ, nên dự án phi trường quốc tế Irvine phải bị huỷ bỏ.

Bây giờ thì vùng đất rộng lớn này đang xây nhà cửa, trường học, bệnh viện, khu giải trí, khu hãng xưởng.

Nền dân chủ ở Mỹ đã đạt đến độ cao.

Cảm ơn anh Hiệp. Vùng Irvine rất đẹp và phồn thịnh, thị dân hiểu biết, có ý thức, sống quy củ và giữ gìn thành phố của mình chu đáo, kỹ càng. Mỗi khi sang Nam California, PV đều ghé đến, thăm bạn, thăm mấy tiệm ăn, tiệm bánh ngọt, đi ngang các trường đại học, cao đẳng.

Ở Hoa Kỳ nói chung, đôi khi trước khi bỏ phiếu, truyền thống "town hall meeting" cũng tạo cơ hội để những người vận động, những người làm chính trị và dân chúng thoải mái trình bày và trao đổi ý kiến. Cách đây chừng 20 năm, Disneyland có ý định mở thêm một trung tâm nữa tương tự như ở Annaheim và Orlando cho vùng thương mại phía tây của Lộ Số 7 (cách Tysons Corners khoảng 15 miles), nhưng sau những town hall meeting, Disneyland tự động huỷ bỏ kế hoạch đó. Gần một năm nay, cư dân vùng PV ở gửi giấy đến tận nhà nhau để vận động áp lực county không cấp giấy phép xây cất một cái "mosque" cực kỳ lớn trên một vùng đất mà một nhóm tín đồ Hồi Giáo đã mua rồi. Nhóm vận động nêu lý do là nếu mosque này xây lên thì giá nhà trong vùng sẽ giảm, điều này nhiều phần có thể gây thiệt thòi bất ngờ và vô lý cho những người đã sở hữu nhà đất ở đây. PV nhận giấy hai lần, nhưng vẫn còn lưỡng lự không biết có nên ủng hộ nhóm vận động này, vì trong vùng có ba bốn nhà thờ Công Giáo, Tin Lành và một chùa Phật Giáo khá lớn đã xây cho cư dân đến thờ phượng, chiêm bái nhiều năm nay không ai phản đối. Lưỡng lự trước lợi nhuận của mình và quyền tự do tín ngưỡng của người khác...Lưỡng lự, rồi thấy họ ngưng không thèm gửi giấy đến nhà mình nữa thì lại thấy bứt rứt.

Anh Hiệp có bài hát nào nghe để thư giản bớt cơn nhức đầu này không nhỉ? Mong là anh Hiệp không trách PV vào đây nghe nhạc còn đem chuyện nhức đầu vào theo.
