    Em chả.

Ngày hôm qua: "The Proud Boys, Stand back and stand by. But I'll tell you what, I'll tell you what, somebody's got to do something about Antifa and the left, because this is not a right-wing problem."

Ngày hôm nay: "I don't know who the Proud Boys are"

Trump now tells far right to 'stand down' amid white supremacy row

President Donald Trump has said a far-right group should "stand down" and let law enforcement do its work, after his refusal to explicitly condemn the group in a TV debate sparked a backlash.

Mr Trump said "I don't know who the Proud Boys are", a day after urging them in the election debate with Joe Biden to "stand back and stand by".

Proud Boys members called his debate comments "historic" and an endorsement.

Mr Biden said Mr Trump had "refused to disavow white supremacists".

The exchange came during the first of three televised debates between the two men ahead of the 3 November election. The debate descended into squabbling, bickering and insults, with US media describing it as chaotic, ugly and awful.

The commission that regulates the debates said it would introduce new measures for the next two to "maintain order". Mr Trump said they should get a new anchor and a smarter Democratic candidate.

Not much was gleaned on policy and although one snap poll on the debate gave Mr Biden a slight edge, other opinion polls suggest 90% of Americans have already made up their mind on who to vote for and the debate may well have made little difference.

Mr Biden has consistently led Mr Trump in national polls, but surveys in so-called battleground states suggest the vote could still be a close contest.

What did Mr Trump say about Proud Boys in the debate?

Moderator Chris Wallace asked whether the president would condemn white supremacists and tell them to stand down during protests. These have flared this year over the issues of police killings and racism.

"Sure, I'm willing to... but I would say almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing," Mr Trump said.

Mr Biden twice said "Proud Boys" when the president asked who it was he was being told to condemn.

The president said: "Proud Boys - stand back and stand by. But I'll tell you what... Somebody's got to do something about antifa and the left because this is not a right-wing problem."

Founded in 2016, Proud Boys is a far-right, anti-immigrant, all-male group with a history of street violence against left-wing opponents. One Proud Boys social media account posted the logo "Stand Back, Stand By."

Mr Biden was meanwhile accused by conservatives of downplaying the threat of antifa.

Antifa, short for "anti-fascist", is a loose affiliation of far-left activists that often clash with the far right at protests.

During the debate, Mr Biden quoted the FBI director as saying recently that antifa is "an idea, not an organisation".

The FBI director also said in his congressional testimony this month that antifa was a "movement" that includes "violent anarchist extremists".

The US Department of Justice has accused antifa of instigating violence linked to rioting in US cities this year.

Pressed again on the issue, he said: "I've always denounced any form, any form of any of that."

A Trump statement after a neo-Nazi killed an anti-white supremacy protester with his car in Charlottesville in 2017 did condemn "the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups". Mr Trump also said there were "very fine people on both sides" during those protests.

The Department of Homeland Security says white supremacy groups will remain the most "persistent and lethal threat" in the United States into next year.

When confronted with tough or tricky issues, Donald Trump has a tendency to offer a smorgasbord of often contradictory answers, allowing his supporters - and detractors - to pick and choose what to believe.

Nowhere has this behaviour been more pronounced than when he addresses white supremacists and extremist right-wing groups. At times he has renounced them. At others, he equivocates or changes the subject when a direct condemnation would suffice.

Instead, the president ends up offering a rallying cry to hate groups, as he did following the 2017 Charlottesville violence or with his "stand back and stand by" message on Tuesday.

The president can say all the right things politically, then turn around and say all the wrong things, leaving his aides to clean up the mess.

Is it because the president is careless with his words, misunderstood by critics and an adversarial press, or because he is sensitive to the concerns of even the more distasteful elements of his support base?

Despite all the talking and tweeting he does, the president - intentionally or not - remains a cypher.

What was the president accused of?

Joe Biden returned to the issue in a tweet on Wednesday, saying: "There's no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night."

In his tweet he quoted a comment, addressed to the president, from a Proud Boys online forum that read: "This makes me so happy. We're ready! Standing by sir."

Reuters - Proud Boys members rally in Portland, Oregon last weekend

Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said Mr Trump's words were "astonishing" and Rita Katz, of the SITE extremist watchdog, said Mr Trump had given "another nod to white supremacists".

Proud Boys members certainly believed they had been supported by Mr Trump.

Organiser Joe Biggs wrote: "President Trump told the proud boys to stand by because someone needs to deal with antifa... well sir! we're ready!!"

One member said the group was already seeing a spike in new recruits.

Donald Trump biggest driver of Covid-19 misinformation: study

US President Donald Trump's advocacy of unproven coronavirus cures has been linked by researchers to spikes in misinformation carried by global English-language media MANDEL NGAN AFP

    Washington (AFP)

US President Donald Trump has been the world's biggest driver of Covid-19 misinformation during the pandemic, a study from Cornell University said Thursday.

A team from the Cornell Alliance for Science evaluated 38 million articles published by English-language, traditional media worldwide between January 1 and May 26 of this year.

The database they used aggregates coverage from countries such as the United States, Britain, India, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and other African and Asian nations.

They identified 522,472 news articles that reproduced or amplified misinformation related to the coronavirus pandemic, or what the World Health Organization has called the "infodemic."

These were categorized into 11 main sub-topics, ranging from conspiracy theories to attacks on top scientist Anthony Fauci to the idea that the virus is a bioweapon unleashed by China.

But the most popular topic by far was what the study authors termed "miracle cures," which appeared in 295,351 articles -- more than the other 10 topics combined.

The authors found that comments by President Trump drove major spikes in the "miracle cures" topic, led by his April 24 press briefing where he mused on the possibility of using disinfectants inside the body to cure the coronavirus.

Similar spikes were seen when he promoted unproven treatments like hydroxychloroquine.

"We conclude therefore that the president of the United States was likely the largest driver of the COVID-19 misinformation 'infodemic,'" the team wrote.

Sara Evanega, who led the study and is director of the Cornell Alliance for Science, said: "If people are misled by unscientific and unsubstantiated claims about the disease, they may be less likely to observe official guidance and thus risk spreading the virus."

Co-author Jordan Adams, a data analyst at Cision Insights that provided the database, added: "One of the more interesting aspects of the data collection process was discovering the staggering amount of misinformation coverage directly linked to the public comments of a small number of individuals."

After miracle cures, the second-most prevalent misinformation topic was that the pandemic was created to advance a "new world order."

Next came the claim that the pandemic was a hoax for political gain by the US Democratic Party, followed by conspiracies alleging the virus was a bioweapon released by a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

Conspiracy theories linking the pandemic to philanthropist Bill Gates came next, then the hoax that Covid-19 symptoms are caused by 5G phone networks, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and the notion that the virus is a form of population control.

Attacks on US government scientist Fauci, references to the debunked "Plandemic" video, and blaming the virus on Chinese people consuming bat soup rounded off the list.

The study authors also tracked how the stories were shared on social media, finding that the posts elicited 36 million engagements, three-quarters of them on Facebook.

Nga có dịp châm chọc Mỹ: “Let’s treat him with the Russian vaccine and medication,” “Then he will be our Trump.”

Putin says Trump's 'inherent vitality' will see him through COVID-19

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin wished Donald Trump a swift recovery on Friday after the U.S. president tested positive for COVID-19.

“I am certain that your inherent vitality, good spirits and optimism will help you cope with this dangerous virus,” Putin wrote to Trump in a telegram, pledging his support during “this difficult time”, according to the Kremlin.

Russia’s ties with the United States remain strained over many issues, from arms control to the conflict in Syria, as well as allegations of Russian interference in U.S. politics, something Moscow denies.

On social media, many Russians wished Trump well but others responded with derisive comments, or with jokes. Some took the opportunity to highlight Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine.

“Let’s treat him with the Russian vaccine and medication,” wrote Alex Korolyov on the social media platform VK. “Then he will be our Trump.”

With hundreds of potential vaccines in various stages of development around the world, Russia was the first country to license its vaccine for public use and alongside China has been deploying the shots before full efficacy trials are complete.

Sergei Vlasov, another VK user, wrote that Trump should be airlifted to Russia for treatment.

“We need to urgently bring Trump to Moscow. We don’t trust American medicine, his life there is at risk,” Vlasov wrote.

One Twitter user said Trump should be flown to the same Siberian hospital where doctors treated Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny in August.

Navalny was poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent, according to German, French and Swedish laboratories. Moscow denies this and says it has yet to see evidence of poisoning.

Alexander Gintsburg, head of the institute that produced Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, told RIA news agency he expected the United States to take proper care of its president but said other U.S. officials should consider getting the Russian jab.

“It would have been good to vaccinate him,” Gintsburg said of Trump.

VOA, Voice of America có tin đồn ...

Có bà bác sĩ viện Mayo còn nói trên trang HuffPost là Dexamethasone có phản ứng phụ về thần kinh không thể coi thường: "Some of the most common side effects of dexamethasone are aggression, anxiety, irritability, mental depression, mood changes and trouble thinking, according to the Mayo Clinic."

Nôm na là hung hăng, nơm nớp, quạu quọ, u sầu, mưa nắng và khó nghĩ. Tuy nhiên thuốc chống viêm này chỉ có tác dụng ngắn ngày và cũng không thể dùng lâu.
