Dermal tattoo sensors for the detection of blood pH change and metabolite levels
by Wiley
The art of tattooing may have found a diagnostic twist. A team of scientists in Germany have developed permanent dermal sensors that can be applied as artistic tattoos. As detailed in the journal Angewandte Chemie, a colorimetric analytic formulation was injected into the skin instead of tattoo ink. The pigmented skin areas varied their color when blood pH or other health indicators changed.
A tattooist places ink directly in the dermis, a roughly one-millimeter-thick layer of tissue that hosts nerves, blood vessels, and hair follicles. The tattoo needle punctures the epidermis, the uppermost layer of skin, and releases the pigments into the dermis below, where the pigments stain the skin permanently.
Using tattoos for diagnostic rather than cosmetic purposes is a new concept. Researcher Ali K. Yetisen, who works at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and his colleagues thought the technique could be helpful to place sensor formulations at spots in the body where they can record changes in metabolic substances directly, without any spatial distance or time delay, and perhaps for a very long period of time.
The researchers then identified and adapted three colorimetric chemical sensors that produce a color change in response to biomarkers. The first sensor was a rather simple pH indicator consisting of the dyes methyl red, bromothymol blue, and phenolphthalein. If injected into a model skin patch—a piece of pig skin—the resulting tattoo turned from yellow to blue if the pH was adjusted from five to nine.
The other two sensors probed the levels of glucose and albumin. Albumin is a carrier and transport protein in the blood. High glucose levels in the body may indicate diabetic dysfunction, whereas falling albumin levels can indicate liver or kidney failure. The glucose sensor consisted of the enzymatic reactions of glucose oxidase and peroxidase, which, depending on the glucose concentration, led to a structural change of an organic pigment, and a yellow to dark green color change. The albumin sensor was based on a yellow dye that, upon association with the albumin protein, turned green.
The scientists then applied several sensor tattoos onto patches of pig skin. When they changed the pH or the glucose or albumin concentrations, the colors of the decorated areas changed accordingly. They quantified these visible effects by evaluating the colors with a simple smartphone camera and an app.
The authors claim that such sensor tattoos could allow permanent monitoring of patients using a simple, low-cost technique. With the development of suitable colorimetric sensors, the technique could also extend to recording electrolyte and pathogen concentrations or the level of dehydration of a patient. Further studies will explore whether tattoo artwork can be applied in a diagnostic setting.

Walking and Diabetes
Having diabetes doesn't mean you can't play sports
Walking may be one of the most basic forms of exercise but it's also a very effective form of activity for helping to reduce blood glucose levels.
We take a look at how walking can help, the evidence provided by research, and provide tips on how you can get more strides into your day.
Walking off stubborn high sugar levels
Walking can also be useful for lowering blood sugars that are staying stubbornly high as a result of stress or mild illness such as colds.
If you are on insulin and find it difficult to reduce blood glucose despite increasing your insulin doses, you may find that a period of walking is helpful for getting your glucose levels back closer to normal levels.
Note that if you are on insulin, you should test your sugar levels regularly after walking to ensure your blood sugars do not go too low.
Walking more
Rather than thinking about walking as an inconvenience, it’s better to view walking as a convenience - that is a convenient way to keep our metabolism active.
Whilst many of us may feel we have difficulty in getting enough physical activity into each day, getting more activity into our day is often a matter of adjusting priorities.
Here are some simply ways to increase the amount of walking you do:
- Deliberately park your car further away from the shops
- For shorter journeys, walk instead of using the car or other transport
- Use stairs where possible
- Get off the bus, tram or tube train a stop or two early
- Take a break from your computer every hour for a short stroll - even a short break to stretch your legs has been shown to be better than nothing
- Take walks after meals, particularly if your after meal glucose results are often on the high side
- Move around, where possible, during phone calls
- Move around during TV breaks or, better still, take a walk instead of watching TV
- Make walking a regular family activity
- Make a point of regularly visiting local parks or attractions

Uber Eats job
--- ---
Last edited by chieubuon_09; 07-24-2019 at 09:26 AM.

A fixed driver food pick-up fee, plus miles traveled between pick-up and delivery to customer fare, plus a fixed driver food delivery fee, minus Uber’s 25% commission = Uber Eats Driver payment per completed delivery.
Here’s a typical example of the equation from the Uber help page:
$2.50 pickup + $0.20 x 5.2 miles + $3.00 drop off = $6.54 delivery fare. If Uber takes a 25% commission in your city, you end up with $4.90. Uber’s commision can be higher in some cities.
Tiếp về Pros Vs Cons
Pros:
Uber Eats is an easy way to make extra cash, whether you drive for Uber or not
Similar to Postmates, DoorDash and Instacart, Uber Eats drivers only transport food, not people. Sometimes Uber drivers deal with drunk, rude, or unruly passengers
If you’re 19 years old, you can drive for Uber Eats. You have to be 21 to drive for UberX
Uber Eats has less vehicle restrictions than regular Uber, so most vehicles 1998 and newer will qualify, even if it only has 2 doors
Being an Uber Eats driver is a great gig if you love driving around town
Cons:
Your hourly Uber Eats pay can drop below $10 during slow delivery times. On average, most Uber drivers earn more than that hourly wage during a normal shift
Waiting at slow restaurants, dealing with traffic jams, searching for parking spots, and locating hard-to-find customers or delivery locations can be annoying.

Ví dụ như là công an phường, công an chìm, công an mạng.
