Revenge Is Sweet*
I'm feeling very vengeful
I really just can't wait
Until the kids are older
And in their married state
It's then I'll get my own back
For all the things they've done
For all the grief they've caused me
And boy will it be fun!
When I am asked to baby-sit
I'll smile and say 'Okay'
And then as soon as they are gone
I'll have my wicked way
My evenings entertainment
Won't be to watch the telly
I'll watch THEIR children daub the place
With yellow paint or jelly!
Of leaving every light on
I'll surely have my fill
I'll make GRAND contributions
To THEIR electric-bill
I'll search out every socket
And fill it, and switch on
I'll make that meter fly around
Or my name isn't John!
When I go to the bathroom
And then I wash my hands
I'll leave THEIR basin full of soap
And THEN they'll understand
And as I leave I'll just make sure
The comb is full of hairs
Just like it was in days gone by
When mine was full of THEIRS!
I'll have a happy time of it
I'll really go to town
I'll dirty all THEIR dishes
And leave them spread around
I'll turn on every radio
And leave them on full blast
Perhaps it will remind them
Of THEIR racket in the past!
And as I flit from room to room
I WILL NOT close a door
It's better that those kids of mine
Don't know just what's in store
I'll bounce down on THEIR sofa
And knock the cushions off
And then I'll put my feet up
And lie there like a toff!
And so I feel much better
While waiting for my treat
It won't be long 'til I can say
'It's true - revenge IS sweet!'

...người về hôm nay còn nhớ...
...đường xưa lá đổ mùa vàng...
...chút tình thơ ngây thuở đó...
...ngỡ ngàng phiến gió thời gian...

October
Beauty has a tarnished dress
And a patchwork cloak of cloth
Dipped deep in mournfulness
Striped like a moth
Wet grass where it trails
Dyes it green along the hem
She has seven silver veils
With cracked bells on them
She is tired of all these
Grey gauze, translucent lawn
The broad cloak of Herakles
Is tangled flame and fawn
Water and light are wearing thin
She has drawn above her head
The warm enormous lion skin
Rough red and gold

*for my beloved GG
I Cried for You
Songwriters: Gus Arnheim / Arthur Freed / Abe Lyman
Artist: Katie Melua
You're beautiful so silently
It lies beneath a shade of blue
It struck me so violently
When I looked at you
But others pass, the never pause
To feel that magic in your hand
To me you're like a wild rose
They never understand why
I cried for you
When the sky cried for you
And when you went
I became a hopeless drifter
But this life was not for you
Though I learned from you
That beauty need only be a whisper
I'll cross the sea for a different world
With your treasure, a secret for me to hold
In many years they may forget
This love of ours or that we met
They may not know
How much you meant to me
I cried for you
And the sky cried for you
And when you went
I became a hopeless drifter
But this life was not for you
Though I learned from you
That beauty need only be a whisper
Without you now I see
How fragile the world can be
And I know you've gone away
But in my heart you'll always stay
I cried for you
And the sky cried for you
And when you went
I became a hopeless drifter
But this life was not for you
Though I learned from you
That beauty need only be a whisper
That beauty need only be a whisper

*see, i always remember you, although...
Sing To Me, Autumn
Sing to me, Autumn, with the rustle of your leaves
Breathe on me your spicy scents that flow within your breeze
Dance with me, Autumn, your waltz that bends the boughs of trees
Now tell me all the secrets you've whispered to the seas
Sleep with me, Autumn, beneath your starlit skies
Let your yellow harvest moon shimmer in our eyes
Kiss me, Autumn, with your enchanting spellbound ways
That changes all you touch into crimson golden days
Love me, Autumn, and behold this love so true
That I'll be waiting faithfully each year to be with you

Touched with the wind's whispers
Seduced by the lullaby of seawaves
Moon's sinking into night
