But they do want fish.
There's no fish on table for them to say thanks.
They eat the side dishes in silence.
Green beans. Sweet potatoes. Mushrooms. Corns. Buttered rolls.
Are those good enough to their fixed taste?
Ah, yes. It's a must.
Now they all can smile & saying graces together.
A happy family.

Buổi sáng không còn tiếng chim hót.
Ngụm cà phê vội nguội trên môi run.

Lời thì thầm e ấp của đêm trôi?
Tiếng cười ngại ngần vướng trên ngọn cỏ?
Từng ngón tay chợt rời khi ngày đến?
Những bước chân vụt xa khi mùa qua?
17 năm và cô tượng đá thoắt hư hao theo thời gian.
Áo rêu vàng úa. Tóc nhuộm sương phai.
Khóe mắt cuộn tròn giọt lệ.
Vai nghiêng trĩu cuộc tương phùng vô vọng.
Người đi. Đã đi. Không về.
Giải khăn lụa thoảng mùi oải hương tháng tám.
Đốm nắng hạ len lỏi trong tia mắt nhìn lặng lẽ.
Xuyên cuộc phù sinh. Trói vào thiên cổ.
Ừ xin mãi mãi lặng lẽ nhìn nhau.
Nuôi tình nguyên thủy.
Tận tuyệt khúc trầm ca.
Tấm thiệp đến trễ từ một nơi xa lắm...
