Reduce global warming, increase local drinking.

Menorca village threatens to close to tourists
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ar...-noise-rubbish
Perched over a small bay, the village of Binibeca Vell on the Spanish island of Menorca has long been a magnet for tourists looking to wander along its winding, narrow lanes lined with whitewashed villas.
But as its popularity swells on social media, setting off a stampede for selfies snapped along its cobblestone streets, residents are threatening to stop access to the village all together.
“Binibeca Vell is not a place of adventure, but it’s a private housing development where people reside,” Monge added.
As mentions of Binibeca Vell multiplied on social media, the number of visitors has rocketed to about 800,000 a year, with most of them arriving between May and October, said Monge.

Mexico City: Taco rực rỡ
tiny taco stand wins Michelin star
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ar...-michelin-star
All that changed on Wednesday, however, when it became the first Mexican taco stand ever to win a Michelin star, putting it in the exalted company of fine dining restaurants around the world, and drawing crowds like it has never seen.
On Thursday, the queue stretched to the end of the block as a motley array of tourists and trendsetters joined bemused local people, some of whom had not heard the news.
The taco comes with infinite variations on a theme. It starts with a corn tortilla folded around a typically meaty filling. Then perhaps onion, coriander and guacamole, before a punch of lime and hot sauce is added.
A local woman named Laura said she had been a customer since she was a child and had never had to wait for more than five minutes, even at lunchtime.

Paris: picnic rực rỡ
Parisians take part in free picnic on the Champs-Élysées
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ar...champs-elysees
Once a favourite promenade for Parisians, the Champs-Élysées has in recent years been steadily abandoned by local people as popular stores and cinemas have given way to luxury boutiques and the avenue has become the preserve of wealthy tourists.
About 273,000 people applied to take part in “le grand pique-nique”, with 4,400 selected to sit with up to six guests each on a 216 metre-long red-and-white checked picnic blanket, described by organisers as “the world’s largest tablecloth”.

Venice: chèo đò rực rỡ
Venice seeks to fill vacancies for gondoliers
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ar...ing-profession
Venice’s city hall has announced this week that it is on the hunt for new gondoliers. The job requirements include being 18 or over, having a high school-level education, knowing how to swim, and possessing a medical certificate that proves “a healthy and robust constitution”.
Trainees must undertake 30 hours of theory lessons, during which they will learn the waterways equivalent of the highway code. They will also be taught English and French, and about the history, art and culture of Venice, with a particular focus on how the city was built and its water routes. Then they will embark on 10 hours of practical training, involving rowing a gondola with its single oar, under the guidance of a master gondolier.
Today, there are only 433 gondoliers. The profession used to be exclusively male, with its coveted licences usually handed down from father to son. But now the profession is open to anyone who is an EU citizen. Giorgia Boscolo became the first female gondolier in 2009, and today there are 14 women.

Hy lạp: mùa đông rực rỡ
Santorini warns of overtourism
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ar...-crisis-greece
The building boom is directly related to the record numbers visiting an island that had already reached “saturation point” before the Covid pandemic.
Famous for its flaming sunsets and unique natural beauty, Santorini has an estimated 80,000 hotel beds, more per square metre than any other Greek tourist destination apart from Kos and Rhodes.
This summer as many as 17,000 holidaymakers every day traversed through the narrow lanes of Fira, Santorini’s cliff-top town. “There have been times when the pressure is unbearable,” said Zorzos, speaking of occasions when five cruise ships have arrived at the same time. “Everywhere jam-packed with people who have no time to stop, no time to enjoy, who are actually full of angst, because they are so rushed.”

New Fee-land: lệ phí rực rỡ
New Zealand to nearly triple tourist tax
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ar...ional-visitors
The government said in a statement on Tuesday it would increase the international visitor and conservation and tourism fees starting on 1 October to NZ$100 ($61.85) from NZ$35 to “ensure visitors contribute to public services and high-quality experiences while visiting New Zealand”.
Like many popular global tourism spots, New Zealand has struggled with the impact of tourists on the natural environment, with infrastructure stretched by the large numbers. The $35 fee was introduced in July 2019, but this was not sufficient to cover the costs associated with so many visitors.
More than 3.2 million tourists visited New Zealand last year, including 1.3 million Australians.

Coi thấy mắc cười, có một điều mà bạn tui than phiền thiệt nha. Lúc đi, nó hỏi tui Việt Nam tụi bây sao? Tui nói đừng đi, không đủ tiêu chuẩn an toàn mọi mặt.
