Người Việt nam và người Do thái có nhiều sự tích lịch sử giống nhau: bắt đầu từ tổ tiên là Adam, Eva hoặc Âu cơ, Lạc long quân; rồi từ đó phát sinh 12 bộ lạc Do thái hoặc đẻ ra 100 người con trai (thời đó không tính con gái); tương tự, Do thái có nạn hồng thủy thì Việt nam có vụ Sơn tinh đánh Thủy tinh; Do thái phải liên tục chống chọi với giặc ngoại xâm từ Babylon, Ai cập, La mã, Ả rập... thì Việt nam cũng trường kỳ kháng chiến chống Tàu, Mông cổ, Mãn thanh, Phú lang sa và Vi xi...

Nếu chịu khó so sánh kỹ thì bạn cũng có thể sẽ nhận ra sự giống nhau ở nhiều điểm giữa Chúa Giêsu và Thánh Gióng: cả hai đều xuất thân từ thường dân (làm nông dân hay thợ môc), đều không cần đi học trường làng, đều sống độc thân, không thích có vợ con, đều dấn thân giúp đời và cuối cùng thì cả hai đều bay lên trời; chỉ ngoại trừ một điều là Thánh Gióng có đi quân dịch nhưng Chúa Giêsu thì chả biết vì sao biệt tích giang hồ hơn cả chục năm. Chuyện này sẽ bàn tiếp kỳ sau.

Bạn có bao giờ quen ai trong một vài năm rồi mất hẳn liên lạc, biệt vô âm tín, cạn dòng lá thắm dứt đường chim xanh luôn? Đấy có thể là những người từ trăm năm, đến một lần để thực hiện một âm mưu rồi không về nữa, trà trộn vào lãng quên, chìm vào thời gian, tan vào ngày tháng... như rất nhiều những xa nhau trong đời.

Theo rất đông nhân chứng (dân làng Phù đổng và các thánh tông đồ) tường thuật lại thì Thánh Gióng cưỡi ngựa sắt lên trời, Chúa Giêsu thăng thiên bằng khinh công. Có thể thời xưa họ chưa thấy phi cơ và phi thuyền, jet pack và UFO nên chỉ biết kể đơn giản như thế, họ cũng không có iPhone nên chúng ta nghe làm sao tin làm vậy. Còn bây giờ bạn chắc đã nghe nhiều câu chuyện có thật về những gặp gỡ giữa người thường và "người ngoài hành tinh": cả thân hình được hút lên trong một luồng ánh sáng ở dưới bụng chiếc đĩa bay. Đó chắc cũng là cách người từ trăm năm vượt ra khỏi thời gian và trở về nhiệm sở cũ.

Nghe đồn Chúa Jesus có sống lại bàn giao xong xuôi đằng vân đi đâu mất, nhưng thánh Gióng sau khi cưỡi ngựa sắt bay lên giời không còn thấy hiện về thăm bà con làng Phù Đổng nữa, chắc là đi bán muối rồi.

The omnipresence of gulls in the famous lagoon city has become increasingly problematic over the last few years – one recently snatched an ice-cream from a tourist as she walked across St Mark’s Square.

Entertaining though the scene was for onlookers, the Venice hoteliers’ association has finally had enough, and so organised a seminar to come up with ideas to deter the food snatchers from outside dining areas.

And so two, the Gritti Palace and Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, have now resorted to equipping guests with water pistols – all orange – after being told that gulls dislike the colour.

“As soon as they see the pistols, they fly away,” Paolo Lorenzini, of the Gritti Palace, told the Italian press. “You don’t even need to use them, you just need to keep them on the table.”

Eleven seaside restaurants on the Spanish island of Mallorca have introduced a dress code for patrons in an attempt to crack down on what they described as a recent wave of antisocial behaviour among drunk tourists.

In these restaurants, most of which are in the Playa de Palma, shirtless, costumed or football-jersey-clad punters will no longer be allowed, said Juan Miguel Ferrer of Palma Beach, a seal of quality created by local businesses to which the restaurants belong.

The move was prompted by the recent flood of tourists seemingly more interested in drinking than exploring the local gastronomy or the island’s charms, he said. “Since 10 May, we’ve been suffering the arrival of large groups of tourists who are only looking to get drunk in the streets, or on the seafront or even on the beach.”

He described the situation as worse than it had been in the years before the pandemic, calling it an “unfortunate reality”.

“They arrive at the hotels around 10am and by 2pm, they can’t even walk,” said Ferrer. “They are completely drunk and even their companions leave them lying on the sidewalk.”

Authorities in Milan are turning off public fountains amid warnings of daytime water rationing as Italy battles one of its worst droughts in decades.

The measure, which comes after the wider Lombardy region declared a state of emergency, targets about half of the city’s 100 decorative fountains, with the plug already pulled on several over the weekend and the rest to be switched off in the coming days.

Fabrizio Curcio, the chief of Italy’s civil protection department, said on Monday that the Po was up to 80% lower than usual as a result of rainfall being 40-50% beneath the average of recent years and snowfall being down by 70%.

The drought has also spread to the Arno River in Tuscany and the Tiber and Aniene, both in Lazio, and is blighting several lakes, including those in the south.

Venice officials on Friday unveiled new rules for day-trippers, which will be in effect from 16 January 2023.

Tourists who choose not to stay overnight in hotels or other lodgings will have to sign up online for the day they plan to come and pay a fee, ranging from €3 to €10 (£2.58 to £8.62) a person, depending on advance booking and whether it is peak season or the city is very crowded.

Transgressors risk fines as high as €300 if they are stopped and unable to show proof they booked and paid with a QR code.
