    "If you ask me where the market's headed next, my answer is that, it really doesn't matter."

    You can profit in all sorts of ways:

    *Profit From Stocks Going Higher : Think a stock's going higher? Buy a call and make money as it rises. Buy the 'right' ones and make a lot of money.

    *Make Money When The Market Goes Down: Buying puts is a great way to profit as the market falls.

    *Make Money If The Market Goes Sideways: trade within a range.

    ST

    There is a simple way to know the Probability of an out-of-the-money becoming in the Money.

    The Delta of the strike price is an approximation of the Probability of the OOM strike becoming In-The-Money. So, the probability of the OOM strike price remaining expiring worthless is (1 - Delta). Take absolute value of Delta.

    In this case, the Delta is -0.11, so the probability is aprox. (1 - 0.11) = 89% the stock will remain above the strike price.

    If you want a better probability of expiring worthless, then select anything which has a Delta of 0.1 or less (absolute Value). Then you have a better than 90% chance of getting the stock expiring worthless.

    An ATM Call or Put has a Delta of 0.5, so there is a 50% chance of becoming in-the-money, or Out-of-money upon expiring date.

    Just something to simply the strike selection by knowing the approximation of the probability, assuming everything else is equal.

    SPY hedge

    We've had a nice run in SPX for over two months .. but now the index is getting tired near highs with some potential storm clouds on the horizon... earnings have been mediocre and bonds are showing concern about interest rates as the Fed's next meeting approaches on Wednesday.SPY has broken below the $208.40 level to trigger the downside. Our target is roughly $206.40. /ES also has a large bearish engulfing hourly candle.

    BTO 10 contracts of the SPY 29April 207 puts for $0.90 as of 10:33amCT

    Update:

    STC
    10 contracts of the SPY 29April 207 puts for $0.75 as of 2:45pmCT today 04/28/2016 Lost: $150.00

    Lesson Learned: NEVER BUY Option as time is running out.

    CCG còn có 1 ngày để TRADE nên cut my loss.

    This trade was recommended by OptionMonster. It is moving too FAST for me.

    Thought of today:

    It is stated that 75 to 80 percent of a stocks movement is due to the overall market. Further, 15 to 20 percent of a stocks movement is due to the overall movement of the industry leaving 5 to 10 percent of a stocks movement to the actual stock and a very large part of that is the company's earnings announcement. Thus, having the market and the industry both moving in our favor helps diminish the chances of a turnaround in the stock and a nullification of the break out or the break down.

    Knowing the proper time to enter the trade is essential to success. Herein lays the art of trading. The art of trading in this case refers to knowing how to time this event. We all know that closes are more important than intraday highs and lows so it really comes down to whether or not the stock closes above or below the support/resistance line. But that doesn't happen until 4:00pm on the violation day. By that time the stock could have already traded down 4 or 5 percent. If that is the case, then most of the profits that you would have taken the risk to acquire would be gone and then there would no longer any justification to take on the position. Wait another day and it could be even worse.

    Again, this is not an iron clad rule. There is no mathematical calculation. It is not a science...it is an art based on feel and experience! Sometimes there will be reasons to go against this rule but more often than not we will want to make sure that the " wind is at our back" when we trade these opportunities. It is not easy but the more you watch it and the more you do it the better you get at it.

    There is one little thing that can definitely help here and in every case......luck !

    Perfect day for PUT SELLING:

    SOLD 5 contracts of YUM 07/15/2016 $83.00 PUT @$2.40

    “Man, money aint’t got no owners, only spenders.” – Omar Little

    Successful investors have some combination of the following:

    • Analytical firepower
    • Math skills
    • The correct temperament
    • A deep understanding of human psychology
    • The right amount of self-doubt
    • A high level of emotional intelligence
    • The ability to think in terms of probabilities
    • The discipline to follow a well-thought-out investment process

    For those working in the financial industry or managing money for other people, the final piece of the puzzle is having the ability to effectively communicate your thoughts, ideas and philosophy in a way that others can understand. Even the most intelligent of investors won’t last long managing other people’s money if they’re unable to articulate what they’re doing and why.

    Thứ hai tới không có hy vọng nó lên lại vào lúc mở cửa vì tình hình Brexit còn ảnh hưởng và nhất là v/đ margin call. Rất nhiều người bị margin call phải bán lỗ làm giá stock xuống thêm. Wait and see.

    Okay. BC vẫn chưa hiểu rõ vì sao đã bị lỗ vì bán Put mà lại write Cover Call thì có lời? CCG có thể cho thí dụ cụ thể bằng con số chẵng hạn như sự việc đã xãy ra như thế nào mà CCG lời 4K trong tháng 5.
    Thank you.

    Dạ - Đây là ACTUAL TRADING của CCG nè chú BC:

    4/21/16 STO 10 contracts YUM 05/20/16 80PUT = $1,500 <=== Naked Put
    5/20/16 Assigned 1000 Shrs = $80,000
    5/24/16 STO 10 contracts YUM 05/27/16 81CALL = $1000 <==== covered calls
    5/27/16 Asigned 1000 Shrs = $81,000
    5/31/16 STO 10 contracts YUM 06/17/16 81PUT = $1200 <==== Naked Put (expired)

    CCG cleared $4,700 less $80 in commission by either let the option assigned or Expired with YUM moving sideway between $79.50 to $81.50.
