Trời đã sinh Dugong sao còn không sinh cỏ?

    Dugong functionally extinct in China
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...on-and-hunting

Since 1988, the dugong has been classified by the Chinese state council as a grade one national key protected animal, which affords it the highest level of protection. However, there are no records of the dugong’s presence in China since 2008.

The dugongs are particularly dependent on seagrass, a specific marine habitat that is being rapidly degraded by human impacts from coastal development to water pollution.

Crab and lobster shells could be used to make renewable batteries
    https://www.theguardian.com/science/...able-batteries

The researchers in Maryland have developed batteries that use a product derived from crustacean shells to store energy.

Crustaceans such as crabs, shrimps and lobsters have exoskeletons made of cells that contain chitin, a kind of polysaccharide that makes their shells hard and resistant. This valuable material is abundant in nature and can also be found in fungi and insects, but is usually thrown away as food waste from restaurants and a byproduct of the food industry.

Scientists have long been researching its various applications – in biomedical engineering, for example, for wound dressing as well as anti-inflammatory treatments – and now, electrical engineering.

Through chemical processing and adding acetic acid aqueous solution, chitin can ultimately be synthesised into a firm gel membrane and used as an electrolyte for a battery. An electrolyte is the liquid, paste, or gel inside a battery that helps ions – charged molecules – travel between one end and the other of a battery, allowing it to store energy.

By combining this chitosan electrolyte with zinc, Hu’s team was able to create a renewable battery.

Ohio man who suffered 20,000 bee-stings expected to recover
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...stings-recover

Austin Bellamy, 20, climbed high into a lemon tree in Ripley, Ohio, last Friday to help trim it when he mistakenly cut into a bees’ nest, his mother, Shawna Carter, has recounted, in addition to authorities’ accounts of his injuries.

“[The bees] left stingers like an inch long. When I rubbed his head on Friday before they airlifted him here, he felt like he was becoming a porcupine,” his mother told WCPO-TV, adding that he suffered kidney failure from the attack.

On Wednesday evening, Bellamy woke up from a medically induced coma and is expected to make a full recovery, Carter said.

    This gets my goat, too!
    https://www.wiktionary.org/wiki/get_someone%27s_goat

A girl wanted to keep the goat. They chose to kill it.
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ion-california

When a young California girl purchased a baby goat last spring, the intention was to eventually sell it at a county fair livestock auction. But after feeding and caring for the animal for months, she bonded with the goat, named Cedar, and wanted to keep it.

Instead, law enforcement officers allegedly travelled hundreds of miles to confiscate the pet, who was eventually slaughtered.

In July, “two sheriff’s deputies left their jurisdiction in Shasta county, drove over 500 miles at taxpayer expense, and crossed approximately six separate county lines, all to confiscate a young girl’s beloved pet goat”, the lawsuit states.

“As a result, the young girl who raised Cedar lost him, and Cedar lost his life.”

Escaped chimpanzee returns to Kharkiv zoo
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...ukrainian-city

A chimpanzee that escaped Kharkiv city zoo on Monday was persuaded to return by a zoo employee who wheeled it back on a bicycle. Staff at the zoo in Ukraine’s second-biggest city were struggling to persuade Chichi, who had wandered around streets and a nearby park, to return to the zoo with them.

But when it started to rain she ran to a keeper, who put a yellow jacket on her. The pair embraced before Chichi was put on the seat of a bike.

Footage of the incident brought a rare moment of joy to a frontline city under daily bombardment by Russian forces.

The zoo’s director, Oleksiy Hryhoriev, confirmed to Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne that the animal was safely back in the zoo.
Earlier in the war, Chichi had been evacuated from the Feldman Ecopark, an outdoor zoo on frontlines in the Kharkiv region.

Though Chichi still lives in relative danger, she was lucky to leave her former home at Feldman’s Ecopark alive. More than 100 animals died before they were able to be evacuated, according to the zoo’s owner, the Kharkiv businessman Oleksandr Feldman.
