Fans have praised Romania after pictures of how they left the dressing room after their Euro 2024 exit went viral.

Romania crashed out with a 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands in the last-16 on Tuesday night.

It was their best showing at a major international tournament in 24 years, having not reached the knockout phase of any competition since the quarter-finals of Euro 2000.

Edward Iordanescu's side topped their group to make the last-16, with the players and fans clearly loving their time in Germany.
Pictures on social media have shown that Romania left their dressing room in an impeccable state, while they left behind a letter for the German organisers.

The letter read:

'EURO 2024 was for each of us one of the most important football experiences lived so far and we are glad that the stage on which it took place was the German one.

'Every match, every emotion, every experience brought us together and made us feel the magic of football.

'We leave Germany with the thought that we gave everything for Romania and we are grateful for everything we experienced during the weeks spent here.

'It was an honor to be part of the great family of European football. Signed: Romania’s National Football Team.'

Football fans have praised Romania for cleaning their dressing room and for the letter they left behind, with one simply writing: 'Perfect'.

Another fan hailed 'classy' Romania, adding the team played with 'heart to the end'.

They wrote: 'That's class. Romania, you've got a team to truly be proud of, they played with heart to the end and lost with honour and grace.

'Between the team and the fans, truly a beautiful spectacle.'

While a Romanian supporter responded to the pictures: 'There are levels in life no doubt about it, but moments like that make you proud of your nation no matter the outcome.'

A spirited Romania side were knocked out of the tournament after a goal from Liverpool's Cody Gakpo and a late brace from Donyell Malen.

Romania's fans were loud and colourful throughout the tournament, with supporters staying long after the final whistle to applaud their players after the defeat.

Thật tình mà nói hôm đó em xem trận Bồ Đào Nha vs Solevina . Em tuy fan Cr7 nhưng hôm đó rất buồn vì cả Cr7 và Pepe đều đá dưới sức . Trái penalty của Rô bị hỏng do Thủ môn bạn ( đã quá hiểu Rô) đã thắng . Rất tệ và buồn cho Cr7 .
Em đã khóc và buồn nhiều hơn khi thấy cậu ta khóc lu loa vì thất vọng bản thân , vì tội đồ của BĐN và hơn hết là vì vuột mất cơ hội cho đội nhà vào Tứ kết .
Cũng may , thủ môn BDN đã quá hay , con số áo 22 quá may mắn đã giúp CR7 và đội Bồ vào Tứ kết .
Chết hụt thường sống lâu . Em tin là trận tiếp theo gặp Pháp , Rô ko làm mọi người thất vọng , xứng đáng đội trưởng của đội tuyển cho lần cuối cùng EURO 2024.
Đức mùa này đá tuy hay, nhiệt huyết , nhưng gặp Tây Ban Nha cũng hơi lo , vì 2 cánh của đội này bén quá!
